EFT Points To Use While Tapping

If you want to use EFT tapping, you need to know the points to tap on and how to tap inside an EFT session or activity. This blog post will teach you the EFT points, the order to use the points, and will give you extra insight into how tapping works.

What is EFT tapping?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as tapping, is a practice where you tap with your fingertips on 9 main pressure points, similar to acupuncture. Tapping sends signals to your nervous system that you can let go of what you are holding onto like stress or other uncomfortable feelings.

If you are brand new to tapping and want to learn more, learn exactly how to tap, what to say as you’re tapping, and an example of what tapping can look like in this blog post.

What are the tapping points?

During a normal tapping session, you will tap on 9 main points that are along the meridians according to Chinese Medicine.

I’ve included each point below, where to find the point, and the aligning meridian if you’re interested in learning more about the energy systems. I’m sharing meridian information found on Smarter Healing.

The EFT tapping points are listed in the order that you tap on in the sessions.

Side of Hand

Where to find this point: The side of the palm in between the pinky finger and wrist.

Meridian: Small Intestine

I love that EFT starts on this point because it can help you feel ready to start tapping, especially when paired with a set up statement that feels true. This point can help with Psychological Reversal. According to an article by EFT Universe, Psychological Reversal is a concept from energy therapies that describes when your energy is blocked or reversed.

Top of Head

Where to find this point: On the top of your head. Trace your fingers from the tips of your ears and meet in the middle – that is the point!

Meridian: Bladder

Eyebrow

Where to find this point: At the beginning of your eyebrow where the hair starts.

Meridian: Bladder

Side of Eye

Where to find this point: Outer edge of your eye where your bone picks up. This is commonly mistaken by tapping on the temple – make sure to stay parallel to your eye.

Meridian: Gallbladder

Under Eye

Where to find this point: When looking straight, where the bone picks up under your eye, in line with your pupil.

Meridian: Stomach

Under Nose

Where to find this point: Cupid’s bow between your nose and top lip.

Meridian: Governing Vessel

Chin

Where to find this point: In the middle of your chin, under your bottom lip.

Meridian: Conception Vessel.

Collarbone

Where to find this point: Underneath your collarbone. Three fingertips length either side of the middle dip in between your collarbones.

Meridian: Kidney

P.S. This is my favorite point – I love its grounding abilities!

Under Arm

Where to find this point: Under your arm where a bra would sit on your side.

Meridian: Spleen

There are more points that an EFT practitioner may use in a tapping session or activity. But these 9 points are the ones you will use consistently.

Extra EFT Points

Aside from the main 9 tapping points, I want to mention one more here that I love using in every session and tapping practice!

Sore Spot

Where to find this point: Slightly above where your arm and chest meet.

Meridian: Pericardium

The Sore Spot is my favorite point to use in between rounds to give my clients time to check in with themselves while sending more support and relief to their nervous system.
