4 Daily Tapping Activities for Beginners

All healing takes time and effort to create long-lasting change. The best way to consistently heal and move closer to the future you want is a daily practice that supports you.  You don’t have to have an EFT session daily to incorporate tapping into your daily life.

I’m sharing my favorite daily tapping activities that are beginner-friendly.

As a certified EFT practitioner, I make time for this amazing healing modality daily. Some days I have my own EFT sessions with a practitioner, but most days are filled with short activities that keep me grounded and support my well-being.

Before we jump into the ways you can start using EFT in your daily life, learn what is EFT and which points to use during any tapping practice.

4 Beginner-friendly ways to practice EFT daily

1. Tap on 1 point for 60 seconds 3 times a day

Choose your favorite tapping point for this activity. Tap, hold, or rub this point for 60 seconds at a time. I recommend doing this 3 times throughout your day like once in morning, afternoon, and nighttime.

As you tap or hold, take a few deep breaths and give yourself time to slow down and sit with yourself. I love to add light music when I do this. It can be a great break and a connection point in your day.

I choose to do this practice with my collarbone point. The collarbone point is truly my favorite. Added benefit of this point is that it helps with grounding.

Extra tip: Notice if anything comes to mind as you are tapping and use this as an opportunity to continue tapping for longer or write it down to tap on with a certified EFT Practitioner.

2. Let go of the day tapping

If you’re feeling defeated at the end of the day or wish to have it all washed away, this is the EFT practice for you.

Tap on the side of your hand and fill in the blanks of this statement. “Even though today was ______ and I feel ______ about ______ happening, I’m going to put that away for now. I can revisit it another time and tonight I can let myself _____ (rest/sleep/enjoy my time/etc.)”

Say this three times. Letting out a sigh if that feels right or taking deep breaths when you need to.

Move to the other points. Tap as you think about your day. Focus on the stressful or painful parts and notice how you’re feeling. Add in a few deep breaths.

Repeat this as many times as you need to put it away. End this practice by rubbing your sore spot and reminding yourself that you can revisit it, it’s put away, or a thought you had during the tapping that would feel good to end up.

Extra tip: Write down the intensity of the feeling with a scale of 0-10. 10 being the most intense and 0 being no feeling. Rate the feeling again after tapping. Take notice of any beliefs or issues that came up that may need more time to tap through.

3. Use a tapping audio that leads you

It can be tricky to know what to say while tapping as a beginner and that pressure takes away from the experience of EFT. Tapping audios are a great way to start tapping to stay focused on your mind, body, and experience without worrying about how to tap.

Plus, tapping audios allow you to experience a standard EFT practice with no-cost or a low-cost fee.

As a certified EFT practitioner, I recommend trying out an EFT audio to see if you like tapping before investing in full EFT sessions. Of course, you don’t get the complexities that come with an EFT session, but this is a nice daily practice anyone can add to their routines.

My current free tapping audio is all about lowering the volume on your inner critic and starting the work toward a kinder internal voice. This is a perfect tapping audio for you to let go of the critical thought repeating in your mind.

4. Tapping during a break to let go of stress

We all have days where our schedule is packed and it feels like we cannot slow down for even a second, but those are often the days where we need a break most. This practice is perfect for those days because it only takes 15 minutes.

Step aside and find a private spot where you can show up as you need for the duration of this practice. Start by taking a few deep breaths and tapping on the side of the hand point. As you tap on the side of the hand, fill in the blank of this statement, “I’m feeling _______, and it’s normal for me to feel this way. I can show myself compassion.” Say this three times before moving on.

Move into the other points and voice how you feel. Take a deep breath on each point. Scan how it feels to be in your body. Allow yourself to slow down and be with yourself.

At the end of the 15 minutes, rub your Sore Spot and thank yourself for the time while noticing what changed or came up.

Extra tip: Write down the intensity of the feeling with a scale of 0-10. 10 being the most intense and 0 being no feeling. Rate the feeling after the 15 minutes of tapping and take a few minutes to journal about it.
